Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  My neighbor’s dog barks all the time.  What can be done?

A:  Is the dog kept outside all the time?  See the Covenants at Section 5 E ”Animals” that states that no more than two animals may be kept outside.  Section 5 B “Nuisances” may also apply.  First talk with your neighbor.  If that doesn’t work, contact SCRAPS (Spokane County Regional  Animal Protection Service) at 477-2532.

Q:  When can I keep my RV or trailer in front of my house?

A:  Trailers and RVs may never be kept in front of a home, even in a driveway.  See the Covenants at Section 5 C “Vehicles and Equipment Restrictions”.  However, they may be there for 1-3 days to get them loaded/unloaded and cleaned up before removing them to permanent storage.

Q:  What about garbage and yard waste barrels?

A:  The Covenants at section 5 F “Garbage and Refuse Disposal” states that they shall be “…kept screened and concealed from view from the dedicated streets.”  They may not be kept in front of your garage.  Garbage collection  is on Friday mornings, so most people put their containers out on Thursday evening.  They should not be set out days in advance.  If you’ll be out of town, ask your neighbor to put out your containers.

Q:  My fence needs painting.  Will the Association do it?

A:  If the fence is in your back yard and is not visible from the street, it is your responsibility.

Q:  What if I need to paint my fence?

A:  If you wish to use Autumn Crest Gray, no ACC approval is needed.  This color can be found at ACE Hardware on Montgomery Road (near Argonne) and ask for “Autumn Crest Gray”.  All other colors must have prior ACC approval.

Q:  My fence needs to be repaired.  Will the Association do it?

A:  The Association fixes only Association-owned fences.  These are located on the perimeter of the Association – behind the homes on 22nd, on Progress and Sullivan Roads, and separating Whisperwood and ACHA.

Q:  What if I need to replace my fence?

A:  You must have written approval from the Architectural Committee regarding style and materials before you replace your fence.  See this website for Architectural Standards.
